I’ve been trying to get Facebook to automatically import my blog posts as Facebook Notes recently. It hasn’t been easy; for whatever reason, their import tool, which they say checks for new posts every few hours, hasn’t been doing that for me.

Well, tonight, in messing around with my RSS feed, I found that most common feed reader applications (such as Google Reader) haven’t been showing my full posts, even though I’ve set that as my preference. I knew that my full posts were being shown in the RSS feed in the <content:encoded> field, but not in the <description> field. So, I had a choice: leave people using common feed readers with a truncated version of my posts, or duplicate the content and have it work everywhere?

I ended up choosing to fix it. And that’s all the time I have to devote to blogging for the day.

    Hey Michael,
nice work on the website, clean and simple.

Do you think it would be a good idea to add a link back to the front page on your big header picture? I just intuitively clicked the picture and thinking that it will take me back.

Btw, I saw you on the MLK teach-in event on Monday. any thoughts about it?

    1. Reggie,

Thanks for the idea; it is now a working link.

I was only at the teach-in for the first session, but I thought it was interesting. I hadn’t understood the rationale behind the Engaging Diversity program, so it was good to hear directly from the people who put it together.

      Michael
